Thorough Preparation

Professional Painters Adelaide Painting Preparation

As professional painters, we pride ourselves in the quality of our work, ensuring surfaces are thoroughly prepared before applying the coating systems. Cracks, from minor hair-line cracks up to major structural cracking are filled using the correct materials. For major cracks this may involve sand, lime and cement or even plastering. Surfaces are rubbed down and dusted off, and may require washing down. Preparation is the most important aspect of a job, ensuring the quality of the final finish as well as adding years onto the paintwork before it will need painting again. Lancaster Painters Australia performed sensitive conservation, reconstruction, repaint and beautification work for the Sacred Heart Church in Semaphore. It was carried out as per the Burra Charter using modern day paint finishes. The most important part of the award winning painting and decorating work, was the preparation work that included the sweeping down of walls, repair of minor cracks, intense filling of major cracks, sanding and plastering. Below is a slider of some of the before, progressive and after photos of this work.

Sacred Heart Church Beautification

Environmentally friendly Haymes Paints were used to paint the Sacred Heart Church. The original banner signage of the arch that had previously been painted over was reconstructed using 22 karat gold leaf. Decorative finishes were skilfully hand painted by artisans educated in the decorative arts. Beautification included a hand painted dado, broken colour effects, pin-striping, gilding, stencils, marbling, wood graining, scumbling, venetian glaze, copper antiquing, timber repolishing and the artistic conservation and repair work of the beautiful “Stations of the Cross”.
