Directors Profile

Gary Lancaster, Director of Lancaster Painters Australia Pty Ltd, successfully completed a four year apprenticeship in painting and decorating through the Department of Housing and Construction in South Australia. Attending the Marleston College of Further Education, he studied Trade Practice, Trade Technology and Trade Drawing. On 12th December 1978 he received his Apprentice Certificate in Painting and Decorating from the Department of Further Education in South Australia.

In 1985, Gary began work for one of the English masters who was certified with his City & Guilds in painting and decorating and highly skilled in the decorative arts and traditional heritage work. Gary has continued in his studies of the decorative arts to this day, becoming a true master of the decorative arts in his own right.

Under the trading name of GD & JA Lancaster, Gary became highly successful in managing his own painting and decorating business and had the privilege of exhibiting his work and performing DIY (Do It Yourself) demonstrations at the Master Builders Association “Building and Home Improvement Show” and the Sunday Mail Home Living Expo. His work has also been exhibited at the Italian Carnevale, the French Festival Provence Côte ďAzur, Old Adelaide Restoration Centre and the Home Ideas Centre.

Further Study

Studying part-time with the Department of Education Training and Employment at the Torrens Valley Institute of TAFE, Gary successfully completed Paint Technology 1, Furniture Finishes, Artistic Decoration, ADN Certificate II in Signwriting and Advanced Signwriting 1.

Gary also completed the Basic Scaffold Course for steel and mobile scaffolds and the Elevated Platform Course for cherry pickers through the Access Training Centre. He holds an Elevating Work Platform Association of Australia EWPA Card for the following:
